چکیده

conclusions sch is associated with increased level of pla2-iia, which is independent of bmi. the stronger association of sch with pla2-iia than with hs-crp indicates that pla2-iia is an inducer of inflammation while hs-crp is not. results serum levels of tg, cholesterol, and ldl were higher in the sch group than the control group. however, there was no significant difference between the two groups for hdl level. likewise, no difference was observed for the serum level of hs-crp. pla2-iia mean value was higher in the sch group. objectives the present study aimed to compare lipid serum levels in sch patients and normal participants, also explore possible association between sch and the two inflammatory markers hs-crp and pla2-iia. patients and methods this study was performed on 77 women aged 20-45 (39 with sch and 38 in the control group). tsh and t4 levels were measured by electrochemiluminescenceassay. lipid profiles were analyzed using enzymatic-colorimetric methods. hs-crp and pla2-iia were determined using the elisa method. ibm spss 19.0 was used for statistical analysis. background subclinical hypothyroidism (sch) is a metabolic disorder characterized by elevated tsh level but normal t4 level. some previous studies suggest that sch is associated with inflammation.

Serum Phospholipase A2-IIA, hs-CRP, and Lipids in Women With Subclinical Hypothyroidism

BACKGROUND Subclinical hypothyroidism (SCH) is a metabolic disorder characterized by elevated TSH level but normal T4 level. Some previous studies suggest that SCH is associated with inflammation. OBJECTIVES The present study aimed to compare lipid serum levels in SCH patients and normal participants, also explore possible association between SCH and the two inflammatory markers hs-CRP and PL...

Serum lipids, tHcy, hs-CRP, MDA and PON-1 levels in SCH and overt hypothyroidism: effect of treatment.

UNLABELLED Background. Thyroid hormones are the most important factors involved in the regulation of the basal metabolic condition, as well as in the oxidative metabolism. Hypothyroidism is associated with increased cardiovascular morbidity, which cannot be fully explained by the atherogenic lipid profile observed in these patients. AIM Study of serum lipids, tHcy, hs-CRP, MDA and PON-1 level...

Serum secretory phospholipase A2-IIa (sPLA2-IIA) levels in patients surviving acute myocardial infarction.

BACKGROUND The increase of secretory phospholipase A2-IIa (sPLA2-IIa) in culprit coronary lesions is associated with myocardial infarction, and the increase of sPLA2-IIa in peripheral plasma levels has a significant risk and prognostic value in patients with coronary artery disease. Little is known about the prognostic significance of elevated serum sPLA2-IIa in post-acute myocardial infarction...

Association of Lipids with Oxidative Stress Biomarkers in Subclinical Hypothyroidism

Objective. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the oxidative stress biomarkers in patients with subclinical hypothyroidism (n = 20) and health controls (n = 20). Subjects and Methods. Total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TGs), low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol (LDL-C), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARSs), catalase (CAT), su...

Serum Level and Genetic Polymorphism of Secretary Phospholipase A2-IIA in Alzheimer’s Disease

Background: Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disease and is the most common because of late life dementia. Alteration of Secretary Phospholipase A2-IIA (sPLA2-IIA) may have an important role in membrane phospholipids metabolism and the pathogenesis of AD. The aim of our study was to determine serum levels and genetic variant of sPLA2-IIA in Alzheimer’s disease and compare to cont...
